(Stanton, MI) – The Montcalm Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Program partnered with the Montcalm County Juvenile Court and For Goodness’ Sake this holiday season to provide meaningful, personalized gifts to children involved in the child welfare and juvenile justice systems.

Through the collaboration, 36 children served by CASA volunteers or working with Montcalm County juvenile probation officers received gifts tailored to their individual interests, talents, and needs. Gifts included items that encouraged music and art, books selected around children’s interests, favorite clothing styles and colors, and essential winter items such as boots, snowpants, coats, hats, and gloves.

On December 15, For Goodness’ Sake delivered a trailer full of unwrapped, personalized gifts directly to the Montcalm County Juvenile Court, where CASA volunteers and staff coordinated distribution to families. Providing gifts unwrapped allowed foster parents and families to wrap and present the items themselves on Christmas Day, helping preserve a sense of normalcy and pride during the holiday season.

One child shared their appreciation in a thank-you note, writing, “I just wanted to say thank you for all the gifts… you took the time out of your day to go shopping for me. THANK YOU so much!” A foster parent added, “Christmas would be very skimpy for these kids without all of you.”

CASA has partnered with For Goodness’ Sake for the past six years, with the number of children served increasing annually.

For Goodness’ Sake is a Greenville-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2012. Originally focused on holiday assistance, the organization now supports children year-round by providing resources and opportunities that help them succeed in academics, athletics, and the arts. Operated entirely by volunteers, 100% of donations directly benefit children.
