Hello! I was talking with my child’s 8CAP teachers, and they suggested that I share our story. My son started his school journey this last school year at the Shepherd location with Mrs. Klump, Mrs. Elkins and Mrs. Priest. Firstly, the teachers went above and beyond any expectations I had of them going in. They took my child under their wings and cared for him like he was one of their own. My child had a medical emergency in December that kept him in hospital for 11 days (mastoiditis which caused a blood clot and led to surgery for the removal of his infected bone) and the whole time they stayed in contact and wished him a speedy recovery and cared about his wellbeing, they even had the class make him get well cards and sent them to us which we got when we came home. I cherish those so much.
The teachers at this location were caring, compassionate, understanding, supportive and helpful. They donated clothes and coats to us that helped me get through the winter months and took all the precautions for my child’s safe return on blood thinners. I truly hope that this program continues for a very long time. It was a wonderful experience and opportunity to have been part of this program and I’m so grateful they were part of our schooling journey. They will always be remembered in high regards and always have my gratitude. And a special thanks to Amy who was also amazing through it all, she checked in on Lucas and also made sure to help sort the complicated parts out with his absence, and her continued care for how his recovery was going.
Overall, I am one happy parent that couldn’t have made it through this last year without the ongoing support and care from the amazing team at the Shepherd 8CAP!
